Hosts: Josef and Jasmine call themselves downshifter, but they are not "budding anti-developers", nor followers of the fascinating trend of the moment. They are a (very close-knit) couple of "mature" people who, after having traveled the world and having developed a professionalism in the field of renewables and not only (even in unsuspected times), chose Abruzzo as a designated destination to realize their dream of always: get rid of the monetary exchange and embark on a life of gift, barter and sustainability and food self-sufficiency.
They bought a small plot in Castiglione Messer Raimondo in the province of Teramo and there they built their new home. Which is also a b & b, but not a b & b whatsoever.
Casale Baronetto, in fact, is a building built in total energy self-sufficiency, with full recovery of rainwater and wastewater, where guests can participate in the activities that characterize the daily life of josef, jasmine and their daughters: from the care of biodynamic vegetable garden and the surrounding environment, the kitchen, the exchange of goods with the other inhabitants of the area or the professionalism of the guests through the barter and more.
Now, after a year spent inventing, designing, recycling and establishing relationships with all the associations that are sensitive to the issues that are close to their hearts, a first important recognition has arrived, because during the last edition of bit, legambiente has decided to recognize them the oscar of ecotourism 2016.
At the farmhouse the baronetto are cooked strictly traditional dishes interpreted for vegan or vegetarian needs with ingredients from its bio-dynamic garden. The unique menu is served with everyone and eaten as a family in the sense of the social-eating philosophy.
