Our farm is located between Hanover, Bielefeld and Paderborn, just a short drive from the historic towns of Hamelin, Lemgo and Rinteln. In an idyllic secluded location, surrounded by meadows and forests (Teutoburg Forest and Weserbergland), there is no light or noise pollution, but lots of nature that you can explore on foot or by bike.
You can look forward to a 100% organic breakfast - with mostly regional organic products from two neighboring Bioland-certified farms. Honey comes from our bees and our storage cellar is filled with lots of jam from our own garden and our orchard apple juice. And of course there are also delicious breakfast eggs from our free-range chickens.
You can prepare your own tea and coffee in the cozy guest living room with fireplace at any time. If you are interested, you can get an individual tour of the farm.
Children can collect eggs, feed chickens and pet sheep. In the garden there are many play opportunities for the little ones and nice seating and deck chairs for the grown-ups to relax. If you look closely, you can see deer and rabbits and, on a clear night, the sparkling starry sky.
You can reach many beautiful and regionally known hiking trails with fantastic views directly from our farm. Our favorite trail leads through meadows and forests to the Goldbecker Krug. There you will find delicious homemade dishes with many regional products and home-brewed beer. The way back to us takes only 15 minutes on foot.
We are Anne, Fiz and Taio, a German-British family looking for the simple life. We have been working on our vision of a self-sufficient farm on 3ha of land since 2014, designed according to permaculture principles. During this time we have achieved a lot and learned even more. From traditional handicraft techniques, horticulture, preserving food, sheep farming, wool processing, beekeeping to ecological renovation with clay plaster.
On formerly conventionally cultivated areas with low biodiversity, we have gradually planted more than 1000 trees and shrubs, planted a meadow orchard with old, regional fruit trees, wild fruit. Nut and berry hedges and a woodland garden with unusual edible plants such as Japanese grapes. We keep robust landrace chickens, ducks and sheep, as well as bees, from which we harvest surplus honey for us and our guests in good years.
We have lovingly restored the first floor of our farmhouse to create a unique guest area. Fiz built a lot of the solid wood furniture himself and cushions and textiles are sewn by Anne. We look forward to your visit!
