In times of conflict and new divisions, the IT.A.C\u00c0 2026 Festival chooses “Geographies of Peace” and invites a responsible journey throughout Italy, between encounters and discovery of elsewhere. Ecobnb is a media partner this year, too.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In an age of walls and borders, there is a festival<\/strong> that every year chooses to do the exact opposite. This is to draw geographies of peace<\/strong> throughout travel<\/strong>. It is not a type of travel that consumes places, but that passes through them sustainably<\/a> and responsibly<\/strong>, with care and respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

IT.A.C\u00c0 – Migrants and Travelers<\/strong> is the\u00a0R<\/strong><\/span>esponsible Tourism Festival <\/strong>that, since 2009, has aimed to support and promote this way of traveling. It was born from the idea of creating innovative and positive relationships between locals and travelers. Furthermore, this festival has also been recognized by UNWTO<\/em> (UN World Tourism Organization) for excellence and innovation in tourism. The name is a play of words between the island of Ulysses (the legendary traveler of Mediterranean culture) and the Bolognese expression “it.a.c\u00e0” – are you home? <\/em>– to symbolize travel and hospitality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is a tourism festival that takes place from June to October in various Italian regions. This year, there are 16 stops, from the small villages in the Apennines to nature reserves in Trentino. Find out where the festival will stop to learn how to become a conscious traveler, rather than a consumer tourist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a historical context marked by barriers, borders, and migration crises, IT.A.C\u00c0 2026 chooses to celebrate tourism as a\u00a0me<\/strong><\/span>ans of encounter, dialogue, and exchange<\/strong>, which can create “Geographies of Peace”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What does this mean? It has precisely to do with the value and potential of tourism as a practice that brings social and environmental justice<\/a><\/strong>. Travel does not mean, first of all, consuming territories and excluding local communities, but taking care of both<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthermore, travel highlights the contrast between moving by choice and moving by necessity. The festival invites reflection on the right to human mobility<\/strong>, creating a bridge between migrants and travelers<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Traveling consequently becomes preparing for welcoming others<\/strong>, listening to differences, and recognizing limits as values<\/strong>. In this way, open and inclusive communities can be created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year, IT.A.C\u00c0 Festival – Migrants and Travelers spreads itself over 16 stops across 8 Italian regions<\/strong>. From June 21st, the opening day, until the end of October, it will be possible to discover the art of responsible tourism from north to south, through paths, villages, and nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
