ALMALOCA is a project that brings together ecology<\/strong>, community, and personal transformation<\/strong>. A place where tourism becomes a tool for regeneration<\/a><\/strong> and where every experience is designed to reconnect people with the land, with others, and with themselves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We interviewed Andr\u00e9s<\/strong> and Nat<\/strong>, founders of ALMALOCA, to learn how this regenerative tourism project in Colombia was born and is evolving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Naty and I met in the mountains; we recognized each other in the meeting of our visions. Everything began in a maloca in Cocorn\u00e1, Antioquia, a space of indigenous thought<\/strong> where we connected from that very first encounter. The next day, in front of a sacred stone at Cascada Coraz\u00f3n, we shared our deepest dreams and discovered that we were walking toward the same purpose. From that moment on, we chose the path of weaving trust, merging our journeys to co-create a project<\/strong> that is, above all, an expression of our lifestyle<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The name ALMALOCA came to Nat as a clear and powerful vision during an ancestral medicine ceremony. Receiving this gift, she understood that the message integrated our fundamental essence: the \u201csoul\u201d, the expansive freedom<\/strong> that some call \u201cmad\u201d, and the \u201cmaloca\u201d, our sacred refuge of thought. It was born from our choice to surrender to the process and fully trust that sign<\/strong>, turning that inspiration into our path of inner coherence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ALMALOCA was not created as a traditional tourism business with rigid structures, but as a deep way of life<\/strong>. It is the path of inner coherence, grounded in will and in the philosophy of \u201cBE through doing and do for BEING\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n ALMALOCA was born the moment we decided that our company would be an extension of our own evolutionary journey<\/strong>. It arose from pure will and our courage to constantly transform ourselves. We understood that this path did not require fitting into traditional models. <\/p>\n\n\n\n We began to materialize this energy in \u201cALMALOCA House<\/a><\/strong>\u201d, our apartment in the city of Medell\u00edn<\/strong>, where every decision has become a celebration of our authenticity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We are located on a 9-hectare property<\/strong> in Vereda Astilleros<\/strong> (San Antonio de Prado, Medell\u00edn), at 2,300 meters above sea level<\/strong>, where the \u201cCasita Amarilla<\/strong>\u201d \u2014 our first refuge \u2014 was transformed while respecting the original structure inherited from the previous owner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We are engaged in active reforestation<\/strong> of a strategic green corridor that connects with the Astilleros Forest Reserve<\/strong> and Cerro del Padre Amaya<\/strong>. This territory hosts more than 2,000 bird species<\/strong> and 32 archaeological sites. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Each guest who visits us becomes a \u201cforest builder\u201d<\/strong>, participating in the restoration of the Andean forest we are planting from scratch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We are designing a biofactory<\/em>, a system that transforms organic waste into valuable resources instead of treating it as waste. <\/p>\n\n\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Following circular economy<\/a> models, we develop composting<\/strong> processes that return nutrients to the land. 61.5% of household waste in Colombia is compostable, and we see ourselves as part of the solution from a rural perspective.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The project includes supporting local farmers<\/strong> in the transition to organic farming<\/strong>, eliminating pesticides and toxins. Our table is nourished by what they grow, creating a direct<\/strong>, fair, and transparent supply chain.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Each experience is designed so that the visitor becomes an active agent of regeneration<\/strong>: participating in planting, learning ecological restoration, and contributing directly to the local economy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n We are part of the Junta de Acci\u00f3n Comunal and actively participate in territorial decisions, supporting local entrepreneurs and building alliances with community leaders.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n We are developing the School of Regeneration in Motion, sharing regenerative methodologies with entrepreneurs and local communities.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n We collaborate with public institutions and social movements to strengthen sustainable practices and circular economy policies.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n We are developing an e-commerce platform that connects regenerative local products with conscious consumers.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n We maintain a living connection with the Kogui<\/strong> and Arhuaco<\/strong> communities, from whom we have learned respect for thought and Mother Earth<\/strong>.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cAt ALMALOCA we accompany traveling souls who arrive searching for something they cannot yet name, and leave having found it.\u201d<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n What guests value most is the sacred space for self-recognition. \u201cthe little home of my soul\u201d, where one finds a calm that is not just silence, but presence.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n \u201cA traveler who experiences Almaloca becomes inspired\u201d: to change, to create, to live more authentically.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n They deeply appreciate the meeting between ancestral wisdom and regenerative innovation.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Pure air, silence, connection: simplicity becomes abundance.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Each guest contributes to reforestation and the local economy.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n A meeting of people who share the same path of transformation.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n![\"Almaloca,](\"https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2026\/04\/Almaloca-sunrise.png\")
