Renovated with love and respect for the environment, Dar Beate is an eco-friendly Bed & Breakfast that combines hospitality, sustainability, and tradition<\/strong>. Every morning, a breakfast prepared with local and seasonal products<\/strong> accompanies guests before they venture through the alleys of the Medina, visit the Archaeological Museum, admire the Ribat, or simply soak up daily life in markets and small caf\u00e9s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To go beyond the travel experience and discover what makes Dar Beate unique, we interviewed Karim Baaziz, founder and heart of the B&B<\/strong>, who shared with us the philosophy behind this project and the secrets of an authentic and sustainable stay in Sousse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How was Dar Beate born and what inspired you?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u201cI come from the world of hospitality, especially urban hotels in Germany, but as a family we have always preferred to stay in places far from mass tourism<\/strong>, where you can truly feel at home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dar Beate was born from the desire to offer our guests what we ourselves would look for: an authentic experience, immersed in tradition<\/strong>, but with all modern comforts. My family roots in the Medina of Sousse, with its historic monuments and vibrant soul, made this project both natural and inevitable.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What sustainable practices have you integrated into your property?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAll the energy at Dar Beate comes from solar panels on the roof<\/strong>, including electricity, hot water, heating, and the shared kitchen. All taps have flow limiters<\/strong> to reduce water consumption, and our guests can enjoy seasonal products<\/strong> from our small farm<\/strong>: olive oil, fruit, vegetables, and eggs, genuinely complementing the local offer.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do your guests appreciate most during their stay?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSince the opening, our guests have fallen in love with the combination of traditional style and modern comfort<\/strong>. The warm and welcoming rooms allow them to experience the authenticity of the Medina while staying in a central, quiet, and relaxing property. The feeling of being \u201cat home\u201d<\/strong> is what makes us most proud.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What authentic itineraries or experiences do you recommend in the area?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe Medina<\/strong> itself is an open-air museum: from the ancient walls to the 7th-century Ribat<\/strong>, from the 8th-century Great Mosque to the Roman catacombs. Everything is within walking distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For those who want to explore further, with a short trip by sammeltaxi<\/strong> you can reach the Amphitheatre of El Djem<\/strong>, hosting concerts in a historical setting, the religious city of Kairouan<\/strong>, famous for mosques and carpets, Monastir<\/strong> with its Roman heritage, the port of El Kantaoui<\/strong> for golf and relaxation, or the picturesque fishing village of Hergla<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
