Tirino\u00a0river,\u00a0with its 25 km length, touches different countries of the province of <strong>Pescara<\/strong> and sometimes gives it its name, as for &#8220;<strong>Bussi sul Tirino<\/strong>&#8220;, a small village with\u00a02,000 inhabitants.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0Bussi sul Tirino there is a small cooperative that for years committed to the respect of nature combining responsible tourism and environmental education. &#8220;Il Bosso&#8221; is the name of the association and there are many summer activities offering visitors: hiking, mountain biking, guided tours in the woods or in the middle of the wolf recovery, training sessions on environmental issues. But the one who deserves most of all is undoubtedly the <strong>canoe excursion<\/strong> to the source of the <strong>river Tirino<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Accompanied by sympathetic and competent guides, let&#8217;s start by\u00a0<strong>canoe<\/strong>\u00a0from\u00a0<strong>San Martino<\/strong>, in the municipality of <strong>Capestrano<\/strong> (Aquila), paddling upstream toward the source of the river, for about 5 km.<\/p>\n<p>During the journey guides give you historical and environmental information on the river and its inhabitants. They describe the flora and fauna characteristic of the area and other\u00a0curiosity.<\/p>\n<p>A few meters from the arriving point\u00a0you can <strong>dive into the river<\/strong>, very cold even in summer but clear so much to be able to see the bottom.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_5996\" class=\"thumbnail alignnone\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2015\/04\/canoa-4.jpg\"><img class=\"wp-image-5996 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2015\/04\/canoa-4-870x490.jpg\" alt=\"Canoeing on the river Tirino, Abruzzo\" width=\"870\" height=\"490\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2015\/04\/canoa-4-870x490.jpg 870w, https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2015\/04\/canoa-4-570x320.jpg 570w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 870px) 100vw, 870px\" \/><\/a><div class=\"caption\">Canoeing on the river Tirino, Abruzzo<\/div><\/div>\n<p>The river\u00a0is so clean that the guys of the cooperative propose visitors to <strong>drink water<\/strong> and to taste\u00a0sedanina: an herb that grows under water and that, as it is easy to imagine, has a taste reminiscent of celery.<\/p>\n<p>The tour also deserves only for this first part and for this unusual experience, but the best is yet to come: the return to the starting point is done in<strong> absolute silence<\/strong> and carried by the current. And if you meet these two simple rules, not make noise and not to row, the journey becomes unforgettable.<\/p>\n<p>You hear the <strong>sound\u00a0of nature<\/strong>, the songs of birds and the rustling of animals through the vegetation. You can see coots approach the canoe or play away.
