The sculptures by Marco<\/strong> Martalar<\/strong>, world-renowned wood artist, tell a story of rebirth and connection with nature. With the remains of trees devastated by the 2018 storm Vaia, Martalar has created unique and evocative<\/strong> works of art, scattered among the forests and mountains of Trentino and Veneto. Each of these sculptures is a tribute to nature and a message of hope<\/strong>, memory<\/strong> and regeneration<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. The Vaia Dragon of Lavarone<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A giant of wood that tells a story of resilience<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Among all the sculptures, the Vaia Regeneration Dragon is without doubt the most iconic. With its 16 meters in length, 7 meters in height and a weight of 6 tons of charred wood, it is the largest wooden dragon sculpture in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This majestic work is a symbol of resilience: its original version, known as “Dragon Winged by Magr\u00e8<\/a>“, was destroyed by fire in 2023, but it rose again in 2024 from its ashes, even more impressive and fascinating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dragon\u2019s Path<\/strong> is a family-friendly loop trail that can also be ridden by e-bike. In winter it turns into a magical snowshoe route! You start from the Pal\u00f9 Parking, following the signs for Magr\u00e8 Tablat. After admiring the Dragon, you can continue the path downhill to the lake of Lavarone<\/strong>, where you can enjoy a refreshing break<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. The Lupa del Lagorai in Vetriolo Terme<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The silent guardian of Valsugana<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Made from around 2,000 recovered pieces of wood, the Lupa<\/strong> del Lagorai embodies the strength and elegance of one of the most emblematic animals of the alpine ecosystem<\/a>. Located at 1,600 meters above sea level, it offers a spectacular view of the Valsugana<\/a> and the lakes of Levico and Caldonazzo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The route starts from Vetriolo Terme and winds along paved roads and dirt paths, passing through the panoramic Pian della Casara. Continuing, you reach the Cima<\/strong> Panarotta<\/strong>, from which you can enjoy a spectacular view, before returning to the starting point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
