Immersed in nature’s green, among woods, ancient trees, organic gardens, and ecotourism itineraries, the Bocchineri Tree House<\/strong><\/a> is a unique structure that offers an ecological experience in close contact with nature. Located within the Bocchineri Estate, near Rogliano (Cosenza<\/strong>), this treehouse is part of a project that promotes sustainability<\/strong> in every aspect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the approximately three hectares of land, which include biological <\/strong>crops and educational hiking trails, guests have the opportunity to explore nature and discover the local flora. The estate adopts many eco-sustainable<\/strong> practices, such as separate collection, reuse of rainwater, and use of agricultural products without chemical fertilizers. For those arriving by public transport, the hotel also offers a transfer service, making access easy and convenient without the need to use a car.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We interviewed Carmine Altomare, the owner<\/strong>, to find out how he created this eco-sustainable corner of paradise, awarded at the Ecobnb Awards, and what makes its structure so special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What sparked your passion for environmental sustainability?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s something that has been with us for a long time<\/strong>. Even as children, we felt the need to respect nature, perhaps because these values were instilled in us. Over time, adopting sustainable habits became second nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What aspects do you consider fundamental in your eco-sustainability journey?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Rainwater reuse, the use of organic and locally sourced products, low-impact energy solutions, wooden structures that blend with the surrounding environment, and minimizing environmental impact<\/a><\/strong> in every possible way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

How would you describe your ideal eco-traveler?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

An ideal eco-traveler should actively contribute to environmental protection<\/strong>, providing suggestions to hosts where necessary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s debunk the myth that sustainability is necessarily more expensive. Do you think “eco-friendly” can also mean “economical”? <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I believe that putting sustainable practices into action, showcasing them, and helping guests appreciate them is key. Sustainability can also be cost-effective if planned and managed wisely, as seen with farm-to-table food and rainwater harvesting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which green initiatives have given you the most satisfaction? What have your guests appreciated the most?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The reuse of rainwater, organic products, and nature trails are certainly the most satisfactory initiatives. Our guests appreciate the opportunity to live an experience immersed in nature, away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
