What sparked your passion for environmental sustainability?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Sustainability has always been a priority for me. I can\u2019t recall a single spark; rather, it\u2019s been a steady fire I\u2019ve always felt inside.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which aspects do you consider essential in your journey toward eco-sustainability?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We have always believed that environmental education is crucial. For me, it\u2019s essential to equip new generations with the tools and awareness they need to make the right choices.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A green practice we have always tried to encourage is the option to reach us by public transport<\/strong>, bicycle, or on foot, which is indeed appreciated by many guests of all ages. It is certainly a way to save money as well as being highly sustainable. We allow bicycles<\/strong> to be parked inside and offer charging facilities<\/strong> for electric ones.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

How would you describe your ideal \u201ceco-traveler\u201d guest?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

My ideal guest is someone attentive, curious, and eager to discover the area with all their senses, consciously and respectfully. It\u2019s someone who knows how to be moved by the unique character of the place and the people living there.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What\u2019s the most meaningful review you\u2019ve received, and why was it special?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I was really pleased when someone appreciated the absence of a television in the hostel and, instead, noticed our large collection of books. The hostel also hosts a section of our town\u2019s community library, and guests seem to love it.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Let\u2019s dispel the myth that eco-sustainability is necessarily more expensive. Do you think \u201cEco\u201d can also mean \u201cEconomical\u201d?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

About seven years ago, at the start of my management, I invested in large containers of eco-friendly natural soaps from a local company. I use them daily, and I still have them because they\u2019re long-lasting, high-quality products\u2014so the initial investment has been very sustainable.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also trade kitchen scraps with neighbors who have chickens, receiving fresh eggs in return. Plus, we\u2019ve installed solar-powered outdoor lights that activate when someone passes by. It\u2019s clear that making conscious investments is beneficial both economically and environmentally.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Which green initiatives have brought you the most satisfaction?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

We partnered with a company that produces high-quality recycled paper products, like toilet paper and napkins. We use long-lasting biodegradable soaps from local producers and offer handmade soap bars crafted by a local artisan.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We also provide recommendations for eco-friendly itineraries and excursions. Guided hikes and the photo tour of the village are especially popular, as are Laura\u2019s handmade soaps, created with essential oils and carefully packaged by hand.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

These small gestures help us connect more deeply with our guests and our surroundings.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

How do Ecobnb\u2019s values and projects resonate with those of your establishment?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I strongly relate to Ecobnb\u2019s commitment to the environment, both in the broader sense and in the specific context of our location. Recycling, eliminating disposable products, reusing, and upcycling are the foundation of our practices. Above all, we treasure our local area and strive to help our guests discover it with care. I believe that care fosters more care.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
