It is completely immersed in <strong>nature<\/strong> and surrounded by the mountains of the <strong>Apennines<\/strong>. Here is what he told us:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>1. We realized how the human being, particularly the &#8216;western&#8217; human being, was becoming weaker and weaker every year. For three hundred thousand years we had been able to survive in <strong>self-sufficiency<\/strong> with what our <strong>environment <\/strong>offered us. In recent years we have delegated our ability to <strong>survive<\/strong> to a small group of <strong>multinational corporations<\/strong> that provide us water, food, energy, heat, building materials, medicines, and everything that keeps us alive. Our ability to adapt to widely anticipated epochal changes such as economic, environmental, and energy crises is very low.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-container-2 wp-block-gallery-1 wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img width=\"870\" height=\"490\" data-id=\"47692\"  src=\"https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/08\/3-1.jpg\" alt=\"fattoria autosufficienza\" class=\"wp-image-47692\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/08\/3-1.jpg 870w, https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/08\/3-1-536x302.jpg 536w, https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/08\/3-1-768x433.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/08\/3-1-570x320.jpg 570w, https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/08\/3-1-344x194.jpg 344w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 870px) 100vw, 870px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>So in 2009, we decided to buy 70ha of land that had been uninhabited for 50 years, where the land had not been cultivated for 20 years, but which was rich in quality water, clean air, unspoiled soil, forests, and which offered the possibility of building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our meeting with permaculture made us join the <strong>three ethics<\/strong>: caring for the land, for people, and for the future. So the project became much more than the initial idea. We started out with the idea of creating Noah&#8217;s ark for our family, while today Fattoria dell\u2019Autosufficienza has become a place of<strong> hospitality, training, experimentation, and inspiration<\/strong> for those who are looking for a concrete alternative to the lifestyle that is driving us to <strong>self-destruction<\/strong>. Today Fattoria dell\u2019Autosufficienza represents the change we want to see in the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>2. Our facilities are <strong>energy-saving<\/strong> and with natural materials such as earth, straw, chalk and wood. The furniture used is self-made from <strong>recycled wood<\/strong> and we also use natural oils and varnishes. The mattresses are made of natural latex and the pillows and blankets are organic. The lighting system adopted is 100% LED.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img width=\"870\" height=\"490\" src=\"https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/08\/1-1-870x490.jpg\" alt=\"fattoria autosufficienza rooms\" class=\"wp-image-47690\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/08\/1-1.jpg 870w, https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/08\/1-1-536x302.jpg 536w, https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/08\/1-1-768x433.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/08\/1-1-570x320.jpg 570w, https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/08\/1-1-344x194.jpg 344w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 870px) 100vw, 870px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>We have provided <strong>charging station<\/strong>s for <strong>electric cars<\/strong> and we have adopted <strong>photovoltaic systems<\/strong> for <strong>electricity production<\/strong> with 66 kW of battery storage. We use <strong>solar panels<\/strong> for hot water and, for the heating of all buildings, we use self-produced wood. The situation is similar for the food, which is self-produced in an <strong>organic way<\/strong>. In fact, our <strong>restaurant<\/strong> is 100% <strong>organic and vegetarian<\/strong>. With regard to the water system, we have a <strong>spring catchment system<\/strong> and a fito-purification system with black and grey water recovery. We also have a <strong>bio-pool<\/strong>, which does not use salts or chlorine and with reduced water waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, there is rainwater collection on cisterns and fairly large lakes. <strong>Flow reducers <\/strong>have been installed in the taps to infiltrate water into the ground and prevent erosion, and swales and terracing have been built. Lastly, we have identified<strong> rewilding<\/strong> areas where we let nature live undisturbed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But we are still at the beginning&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>3. What do your guests appreciate most?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img width=\"870\" height=\"490\" src=\"https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/08\/FattoriaAutosufficienza-870x490.jpg\" alt=\"fattoria autosufficienza\" class=\"wp-image-47688\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/08\/FattoriaAutosufficienza-870x490.jpg 870w, https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/08\/FattoriaAutosufficienza-570x320.jpg 570w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 870px) 100vw, 870px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The beauty and coherence of the <strong>place<\/strong>. In addition, guests are very enthusiastic about the <strong>bio-pool<\/strong>, which was open in 2022. It is built on 3 levels and there is a delicate natural <strong>purification and oxygenation <\/strong>system affected by bacteria, plants, gravel, and swirls of moving water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img width=\"870\" height=\"490\" src=\"https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/08\/Task-42-Immagine-3-870x490.jpg\" alt=\"biopool Fattoria dell'Autosufficienza\" class=\"wp-image-47649\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/08\/Task-42-Immagine-3-870x490.jpg 870w, https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2022\/08\/Task-42-Immagine-3-570x320.jpg 570w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 870px) 100vw, 870px\" \/><figcaption>Biopool Fattoria dell&#8217;Autosufficienza<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Our bio-pool is <strong>ecological<\/strong> because, compared to traditional pools, there is no cement in the construction. In addition, there is no produced waste water with chemicals harmful to humans and the environment. In fact, the opportunity to taste fresh local produce gives the guest a positive memory of the experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2>4. What green experiences do you recommend in the area?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In the <a href=\"https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/2019\/04\/valle-del-savio-tour\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">upper Savio Valley<\/a> there are different virtuous realities. These structures belong to people who have decided to return to living in <strong>contact with nature<\/strong>, in a more <strong>sustainable and careful<\/strong> way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are those who made this choice 30-40 years ago and those who have only recently started.
