In Bolzano <\/strong>there are already five hydrogen buses \u201con the road\u201d thanks to the European project CHIC <\/strong>(Clean Hydrogen In European Cities<\/strong>).<\/p>\n

They\u2019re five. They\u2019re ecofriendly. And they\u2019re already \u201cunder pressure\u201d (precisely at 350 bar). We\u2019re talking about the first hydrogen buses<\/strong> in the town of Bolzano.<\/p>\n

H2-A22. No, it\u2019s not a chemical formula. But it could become the winning combination for our planet\u2019s future! H2 stands for hydrogen. A22 stands for Brennero Highway. In fact, right at the exit of the highway you can find the first hydrogen station<\/strong> in South Tyrol, which was realized in collaboration with the Institute for Technological Innovations of Bolzano.<\/p>\n

The five Daimler buses use hydrogen to run and give back\u2026 steam. Exactly. The so called \u201calternative fuel\u201d uses only renewable energy<\/strong> without leaving any trail of pollution in the environment!<\/p>\n

It could be defined as \u201cwater mobility\u201d, the one promoted by the CHIC project (Clean Hydrogen in European Cities), which involved the public transportation sector in South Tyrol, and by the HyFive Project, in which, besides Daimler, other four car companies are involved: BMW, Honda, Toyota and Hyunday. The latter project, co-funded by the European Union and worth 38 million euros, aims at creating a supply network all over Europe and raising awareness of the green culture<\/strong> also in the private sector.<\/p>\n

It’s unclear whether hydrogen will be the key to the climate change. What is certain is that an important change already happened into people\u2019s mind. In fact, people are growing more aware of and sensitive<\/strong> to<\/strong> environmental issues.<\/strong><\/p>\n
