But, which are the plants to choose and sow in the garden (or on the terrace) for this purpose?<\/p>\n

You do not need to have green fingers<\/strong> to make a difference and create a bee-friendly space<\/strong>. It is enough to know the most suitable flowers and plants and choose species that are easy to take care of.\u00a0 Passion flower<\/strong>, which grows up very quickly, jasmine<\/strong> and ivy<\/strong> are just some examples.<\/p>\n

If you have just one balcony<\/strong> or a windowsill<\/strong>, opt for citrus fruits<\/strong>, as they are really appreciated by bees and butterflies. With a simple little gesture you can do something to help them.<\/p>\n

Flowers to save bees and butterflies in the garden<\/h2>\n

If you have a garden<\/strong><\/a>, grow a clover lawn<\/strong>. Then, plant flowers close together. This is because the colour splashes are an irresistible attraction for bees and butterflies.<\/p>\n

Among the most useful flowers<\/a> for their survival are primroses<\/strong> and some bulbous, including\u00a0hyacinths<\/strong> and\u00a0narcissuses<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Bulbs can be matched either with each other or with other species of flowers, such as roses<\/strong>, or\u00a0intercalated with turfs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Finally, spring-flowering bulbs do not require direct sunlight, on the contrary, a partially sunny place so that flowers last longer.<\/p>\n

As we all know, the city is characterized by chaotic life. For this reason, increasing vegetation is important<\/strong><\/a> both for us and for bees and butterflies. Favouring an environment rich in hedges<\/strong>, green spaces<\/strong>, wildflowers<\/strong>, but also eliminating pesticides and giving continuity to different habitats, is essential to allow the life of these small insects.<\/p>\n

Besides growing flowers and plants, what else can you do for bees and butterflies?<\/p>\n

  • More water<\/strong>:\u00a0bees like human beings are thirsty and need to be hydrated. To do this, you need a deep saucer with some clay balls<\/strong> inside or a few caps so the bees do not drown.<\/li>\n
  • A house for insects<\/strong>:\u00a0bamboo or paper straws, perforated bricks, wood, or straw are enough to create their house. It should be placed no more than 0,06 miles from the flowers so that they always have food available. This house is ideal for solitary bees which are very good at pollinating but do not produce honey.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
