If you go straight on from Piazza San Frediano, you will find Piazza dell\u2019Anfiteatro<\/strong> on your left. Piazza dell\u2019Anfiteatro is possibly the most widely known square in Lucca. Once you enter it, you will simply be amazed by its iconic restaurants, shops and by its vibrant atmosphere<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

It features an elliptical shape and is enclosed by a ring of buildings following the shape of the former 2nd C Roman Amphitheatre<\/strong> from which its name originates.<\/p>\n

It was originally the centre<\/strong> of the administrative, political and religious power; and now represents one of the main symbols<\/strong> of the city.<\/p>\n
