Our lovely team<\/strong> will kindly welcome<\/strong> you and make you feel part of our little Impact Family<\/strong> right away. Everyone has a good story<\/strong> to tell, and you should feel free to share<\/strong> yours! We believe diversity<\/strong> and inclusion<\/strong> play a really important role in society, and thus partnered with Funda\u00e7\u00e3o Liga<\/strong><\/a> to include people with disabilities<\/strong> in our team.<\/p>\n

You can sleep tight knowing our energy<\/strong> is 100% green<\/strong>, coming from renewable sources<\/strong> instead of fossil<\/strong> fuels. And we are, in fact, committed to be carbon neutral<\/strong> by 2030!<\/p>\n

When you have breakfast<\/strong>, you can choose from a delicious selection of jams<\/strong> that support children living with AIDS<\/strong> from Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Sol<\/strong><\/a>. And if you need that extra sweetness<\/strong>, just add a little bit of honey<\/strong> from Cooperativa Terra Ch\u00e3<\/strong><\/a>, working towards local<\/strong> and integrated development in the interior of Portugal<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

2. Homemade Guilt-Free Food<\/h2>\n

Coffee<\/strong> can be enjoyed at the Impact Caf\u00e9<\/strong> guilt-free, knowing our beans are direct trade, 100% traceable<\/strong> and certified from a family business in the Capara\u00f3 region<\/strong> of Brazil<\/strong>, and naturally wood-roasted in Lisbon by a family business<\/strong>. For tea lovers<\/strong>, we have organic tea<\/strong> from Gorreana<\/a> in the Azores<\/strong>, the only existing tea plantation<\/strong> in Europe. Also, you don\u2019t want to miss out on our palm oil-free homemade Nutella<\/strong> when you order your crepes. And the goat cheese from Terra Ch\u00e3<\/strong> in our croissants and bruschettas. Or our zero waste<\/strong> delicacy. You might as well just try the entire menu!<\/p>\n

Every meal is homemade<\/strong> with love by our Impact Mums<\/strong> who strive to remind you of home. Local<\/strong> and seasonal<\/strong> ingredients are used whenever possible, and there is always a vegetarian<\/strong> option. We embrace and celebrate a plant-based diet<\/strong> every day, but particularly on our Veggie Fridays<\/strong>. Advocating a change in eating habits is promoting the single most effective way to tackle climate change<\/strong> as an individual. Also, most of the vegetables<\/strong> used in the kitchen are organic<\/strong> and come from SEMEAR<\/strong><\/a>, that employs and trains people with intellectual disabilities<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

3. Taking Care of Food Waste<\/h2>\n

You won\u2019t have a problem with food waste<\/strong> when you eat with us. Considering it is a global problem, we take it very seriously and follow some steps to make sure nothing is wasted. There\u2019s a meal counting board in the dining area<\/strong>, where people that are not having meals are supposed to write down their name on the respective meal so the Impact Mums<\/strong> can have a rough idea of the amount of food to make.<\/p>\n

Surplus food<\/strong> is either sold through apps like Too Good To Go<\/strong><\/a> and Phenix<\/a> <\/strong>for a symbolic price or donated to Refood<\/a><\/strong> to feed families in need. Leftovers are taken to the organic bin<\/strong> next to the other recycling<\/strong> bins to be transformed into biofuel<\/strong> instead of rotting in a landfill. Veggie scraps<\/strong> and other kitchen waste are vermicomposted<\/strong> by our lovely worms<\/strong>, transforming them into a nutrient-rich fertilizer<\/strong>. It works like a magical elixir<\/strong> for our vegetable garden.<\/p>\n

4. Promoting Healthy and Sustainable Lifestyle<\/h2>\n

Another way we promote a healthy<\/strong> and sustainable lifestyle<\/strong> is through our ImpActive<\/strong> club<\/strong>. Take care of both body and mind with Filipa\u2019s yoga classes<\/strong>. Support nonprofits<\/strong> by booking a massage<\/strong> made by visually-impaired people from APEDV<\/strong><\/a> or an osteopathy<\/strong> consultation that positively impacts homeless<\/strong> people, families in need, and bed-ridden elderly from Associa\u00e7\u00e3o<\/a> Aux\u00edlio<\/strong> e Amizade<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

5. Social Shop and Non-Profit Partners<\/h2>\n

Feel like doing some shopping<\/strong>? When you buy products from our Social Shop<\/strong>, you are actually supporting our\u00a0non-profit<\/strong>\u00a0partners<\/strong>, like the natural handcrafted AMAL<\/strong> soaps<\/strong><\/a> by Syrian refugee women living in Portugal. Or the aprons that repurposed old jeans by SOUMA<\/strong>, an inclusive space supporting people\u2019s insertion in society. And even the herbal teas by APSA<\/strong>, produced by young adults with Asperger Syndrome in their gardening<\/strong> workshop<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

6. Clothing Swapping and Circular Economy<\/h2>\n

Need a new piece of clothing<\/strong>? We\u2019ve got your back. Stop by our little SWAP<\/strong> Spot corner where you can exchange something you no longer wear for a new addition to your wardrobe, promoting a circular economy<\/strong> instead. You can also do this with the books<\/strong> in our tiny library: leave<\/strong> yours and take<\/strong> one for the road, for free!<\/p>\n

Want to travel lighter<\/strong>? You can leave your clothing and hygiene products in our Donation Box<\/strong> and we make sure it reaches people that need them, like homeless shelters or people in other social emergency situations.<\/p>\n

In our Activism Wall<\/strong>, we regularly exhibit the wonderful and inspiring artworks<\/strong> of local disabled artists<\/strong> or people making a difference.<\/p>\n

Want to get the conversation started on topics that matter? You can participate in our impactful events<\/strong> and gatherings where we discuss ideas, raise awareness<\/strong> and promote action to a more sustainable<\/strong> world.<\/p>\n

Our outdoor area<\/strong> is really inviting all year long. ARIA<\/strong><\/a> takes really good care of our garden while rehabilitating and integrating in society people with mental health<\/strong> conditions.<\/p>\n

Want to go even further creating impact with us? This year we launched our Time Bank<\/strong> offering an alternative economy where people exchange services<\/strong> between members, promoting a sense of community<\/strong> and cooperation<\/strong>. You can teach<\/strong> an elderly a recipe from your country, and receive back a Portuguese guitar lesson<\/strong>. Or walk someone\u2019s dog in Monsanto, and receive back a tour in riverside Bel\u00e9m. The options are endless!<\/p>\n

7. Moving Around with Green Mobility<\/h2>\n

But how do I move around? You wonder. Well, we\u2019ve got you covered. We\u2019re committed to green mobility<\/strong> and thus you will find bicycles<\/strong> by the entrance that you can rent. If you\u2019re worried about the City of Seven Hills\u2026 don\u2019t be! We also have electric bikes<\/strong> you can use. Public transportation<\/strong> is within walking distance. If you\u2019d rather use Uber or Bolt, don\u2019t forget to choose their green option and you\u2019ll get a ride in a 100% electric vehicle. And if you feel like exercising, you can always walk! There are plenty of hiking routes nearby, too.<\/p>\n

You\u2019re all set now. You know our house like your own, and how to get to places. And yet, you still don\u2019t know what to do <\/em>when staying with us in Lisbon. Impactrip<\/a>\u2019s responsible experiences will make sure you travel<\/strong> with impact<\/strong>! You can learn how to dive in the Atlantic Ocean<\/strong> and protect the marine ecosystem<\/strong> by picking up trash<\/strong> from the sea<\/strong>. If you\u2019re an animal lover<\/strong>, you get to walk dogs from a local shelter while also visiting the beautiful Sintra Natural Park. You can also restore native forests and become a green guardian! Or experience Lisbon\u2019s \u201cforgotten\u201d neighbourhood through the perspective of migrant guides<\/strong>. Maybe even participate in a zero-waste cooking workshop<\/strong>! The options are unlimited, and you can even venture outside of the capital.
