{"id":3611,"date":"2014-06-23T15:39:35","date_gmt":"2014-06-23T15:39:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blog.italygreentravel.com\/?p=3611"},"modified":"2014-08-15T12:54:25","modified_gmt":"2014-08-15T10:54:25","slug":"eco-tourists-europeans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/2014\/06\/eco-tourists-europeans\/","title":{"rendered":"How eco-tourists are Europeans?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We know that global warming and pollution are endangering the life of our planet. \u00a0But <strong>how many are conscious of the impact of their travel on the environment?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Going on practical, <strong>how many people choose less polluting means of transport or accommodation in eco-friendly holiday?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A recent survey sets the identikit of European &#8216;&#8221;eco-tourist&#8221;.\u00a0 The inquiry (conducted by Opodo, the online travel agency), shows the numbers of this growing trend in Europe. \u00a0Turns out what this trend is diversified in various countries.<\/p>\n<h3>Europeans prefer eco-friendly services and facilities<\/h3>\n<div id=\"attachment_3612\" class=\"thumbnail alignright\"><a href=\"https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2014\/06\/eco-turista.jpg\"><img class=\"wp-image-3612 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2014\/06\/eco-turista-536x329.jpg\" alt=\"eco turista\" width=\"536\" height=\"329\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2014\/06\/eco-turista-536x329.jpg 536w, https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2014\/06\/eco-turista-344x211.jpg 344w, https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2014\/06\/eco-turista.jpg 650w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 536px) 100vw, 536px\" \/><\/a><div class=\"caption\">&#8220;Are you an eco-friendly traveler?&#8221;, ph. via opodo.it<\/div><\/div>\n<p>The survey, conducted on nearly 2000 users in Europe, we discover with pleasure that<strong> 7 out of 10 Europeans are prepared to follow all the necessary steps to save energy, even when staying in the hotel<\/strong> (as always switch off the lights, do not change the towels every day, etc. ).<\/p>\n<p>The most interesting is that <strong>70% of respondents claiming to be ready to spend more for ecosystem services during their holidays. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>According to the survey the most eco-friendly are the Germans, while those that demonstrate less attention to the ecological theme are Italians.<\/p>\n<p>76% of Germans declared it to be ready to spend more for ecosystem services during their holidays.<\/p>\n<p>The percentage drops to 66% among the British and among the French, and 47% among Italians.<\/p>\n<p>27% of French is also willing to spend more to stay in an eco-hotel.<\/p>\n<p>There is still a lot of work on the theme of transport. Although it is the main cause of the production of C02 in tourism, only 17% of respondents claimed to be worried about the impact that transport has on the environment and therefore choose public transport, train, bicycle or local transport (such as the tuck -tuck) to pollute less and immerse themselves in the customs and costumes of the place of the holiday.<\/p>\n<h3>The most eco-friendly?
