In Straw Bale House Felcerossa\u00a0you can feel an atmosphere of familiarity<\/strong>. Every space inside this structure spreads a sense of simplicity<\/strong>, in perfect natural style. In this dimension where everything follows the rhythm of nature<\/strong>, we interviewed the owners to learn more about their history and share it with green travellers.<\/p>\n

How did Straw Bale House Felcerossa come about?<\/h2>\n

\u00abStraw Bale House Felcerossa was born around 2010<\/strong>. We started\u00a0the construction of our entirely ecological house made of straw bales<\/strong> with clay plasters<\/strong> and to improve the two lava stone houses<\/strong> in an ecological light. Straw Bale House Felcerossa\u00a0has also gradually become a project that focuses not only on green building<\/strong>, but also on taking care of a small piece of land, by improving the quality of the soil<\/strong> and creating a small ecosystem<\/strong>. In addition, we aim to offer sustainable hospitality<\/strong> that pays attention to the environment and people, to\u00a0become more self-sufficient<\/strong> by increasing and diversifying agricultural production, self-production<\/strong> and the use of renewable energy<\/strong><\/a>. Lastly, we create a place of shared and participated learning<\/strong> through workshops<\/strong> and training courses<\/strong>.\u00bb<\/p>\n

Course of Permaculture<\/div><\/div>\n

Which good sustainability practices have you adopted?<\/h2>\n

\u00abThe land design, including the small houses, is guided by the principles of Permaculture<\/strong><\/a> and thus to “contribute to life in all its forms”.\u00a0Each house is equipped with tanks for rainwater collection<\/strong> from the rooftops, recycling bins<\/strong>, the taps are all provided with flow reducers<\/strong>. We use LED bulbs<\/strong>, the flushing cisterns have a reduced use of water<\/strong>, the body soaps and home detergents are all biodegradables<\/strong> and almost all self-produced<\/strong>.\u00a0We also have photovoltaic and solar panels<\/strong>, the walls<\/strong> of the houses are thick<\/strong> (stone or straw) and the windows and doors are of good quality so as to reduce the need for heating<\/strong> in winter, which is done anyway with wood<\/strong> or pellets<\/strong>.\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\t\t
