It is a circular route that\u00a0owes its name to a peculiarity of the soil. <strong>Lignite<\/strong>, indeed, is a combustible fossil which, until a few years ago, could be found in the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.enel.it\/en\/futur-e\/plants\/ex-mining-district-santa-barbara\"><strong>great mining area of Santa Barbara<\/strong><\/a>. In fact, in these areas they found <strong>bones from ancient animals<\/strong>. The trail owes its name to one of the area\u2019s main crops: the\u00a0<strong>olive<\/strong>.\u00a0This beautiful journey includes many km of \u201c<strong>strade bianche<\/strong>\u201d, the classic Tuscan gravel and cobbled tracks, surrounded by countless olive groves that give life to one of the culinary treasures of the territory:\u00a0<strong>extra virgin olive oil<\/strong>.\u00a0<span lang=\"en\">Discover the beauty of this area along a 42 km path with a 967 meters difference in height. The itinerary winds through the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.visittuscany.com\/en\/attractions\/valle-dell-inferno-bandella-nature-reserve\/\"><strong>Inferno and Bandella Valley Nature Reserve<\/strong><\/a>. Setteponti and Pratomagno<\/h2>\n<p><span class=\"\">The <strong>Setteponti<\/strong> is an Etruscan road<\/span><span lang=\"en\">, just under 30 km long with a drop of 272 meters.\u00a0<\/span><span class=\"\">In the Middle Ages, it played a leading role for transport and connections to and from <strong>Florence<\/strong>, economic and cultural centre, and in fact, the only real alternative to the <strong>Via Francigena<\/strong> for links to <strong>Rome<\/strong>. Today, the product has been rediscovered and enhanced up to the request for PGI recognition. Currently, almost all of it is produced in this area of \u200b\u200bthe Valdarnese ridge of Pratomagno at 250\/300 meters, but also higher up to 600 meters.
