chimneys<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The legend goes that <strong>Ferdinando I Medici<\/strong> was hunting in the countryside when he reached a hill.<br \/>\nHe stopped the horse and sent for his favorite architect, <strong>Bernardo Buontalenti<\/strong>. Bernardo had served his lordship for many years and was very old by that time and\u2026and was very likely thinking of spending his last years in a bucolic retreat.<br \/>\n\u201cBernardo\u201d Ferdinando I said \u201cin this very place where we are staying, right here, you will erect the most elegant and comfortable villa you have ever thought of for me and my court. <strong>And Bernardo<\/strong>\u201d he shouted already riding away \u201c<strong>do not make me wait too much<\/strong>\u201d. The small (not only in terms of power but in terms of his stature as well) <strong>King Vittorio Emanuele II<\/strong> and his morganatic wife, the so called <strong>\u201cbella Rosina\u201d<\/strong> (the nice Rosina), moved and livedhere when Florence became the new capital of the new born Italian reign in 1865.
