It is located on the top of the Holy Cross Hill, which is considered to be the oldest archaeological site in Rijeka and had been used as a military fortress during World War II. Now it is fully renovated and easily accessible from the city. Even though there is light pollution from the city, it is possible to have a very clear view from the telescope.
