“Il Sentiero di Leonardo<\/em>” (the trail of Leonardo da Vinci<\/strong>) is a new amazing\u00a0historical path <\/strong>from Milan (north Italy<\/strong>) to San Bernardino (Switzerland<\/strong>).\u00a0The itinerary\u00a0<\/strong>retraces the places where Leonardo da Vinci<\/strong> did his works and studies when he\u00a0lived in the\u00a0Ducato of Milan<\/strong>. Probably the most productive period of his longstanding straordinary carreer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A 240 km path to retrace the life of Leonardo<\/h2>\n

The route goes from Milan <\/strong>to San Bernardino<\/strong> (Switzerland) and has a length of 240 km<\/strong>. The itinerary has several points of interest, well illustrated in the italian book “Il Sentiero di Leonardo. 240 km da Milano a San Bernardino. Luoghi, temi, percorsi, ospitalit\u00e0” <\/em>written\u00a0by Renato Ornaghi,\u00a0one of the\u00a0ideator of the path.<\/p>\n

The route has also a return<\/strong>, that goes from Saint Bernardino to Milan, passing by Lugano (Switzerland), Varese and Pavia creating a ring<\/strong>\u00a0circuit<\/strong> with a total length of<\/strong> 520 km<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The route is reach of natural beauties<\/strong>, but also\u00a0engineering, architectural, artistic and historical attractions<\/strong>.\u00a0One of the characteristics of the\u00a0path is that there are\u00a0very often lakes, rivers and\u00a0streams<\/strong> flowing nearby. Water<\/strong>\u00a0was in fact one of Leonardo’s favorite case of study. During his stay in this area of north Italy\u00a0he studied aslo fluid dynamics. He projected great works for the community, often too advanced<\/strong> for that time. Some of them\u00a0have been\u00a0completed only centuries after.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0itinerary “The Leonardo’s Path” \u00a0has been inaugurated this year, to celebrate the\u00a0500\u00a0year<\/strong>\u00a0from the death of Leonardo, in 1509. At the same time, lots of museums and artwork all over the world are celebrating the Italian genius. Walking along the Leonardo’s route\u00a0you can really\u00a0discover\u00a0the life<\/strong>\u00a0of Leonardo Da Vinci and his incredible works of arts.\u00a0You can discover the genius taking his own steps<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

What about the character, who doesn’t know him? An Italian\u00a0artist and\u00a0scientist regarded as “Universal Genius<\/strong>“. Whose areas of interest included invention, drawing, painting, sculpting, architecture, science, music, mathematics, engineering, literature, anatomy, geology, astronomy, botany, writing, history, and cartography<\/em>. Maybe you knew him only for the “Monna Lisa”, “The Last Supper” or his flying machines but he did a whole lot of other things<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

A long chapter of Leonardo’s\u00a0 working life was when he spent in the service of Ludivico il Moro, in Milan<\/strong>. Travelling around the Alps, rivers and lakes. There he found inspiration<\/strong> from water flows and the flight of birds. Perhaps most of the\u00a0backgrounds in his paintings were inspired by this landscapes.<\/p>\n

The Leonardo’s route: first stage from Milan to Lecco<\/h2>\n

Starting from the city of\u00a0Milan<\/strong>, in Italy,\u00a0<\/strong>you can see a lot of works of Leonardo. Here are only a few examples to give you an idea of what you can find along the Leonardo’s path.<\/p>\n

In Milan<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>you can see the\u00a0Leonardo’s horse, the Cenacolo (place of\u00a0 The Last Supper), Leonardo’s Vineyard, Leonardo’s monument in Piazza Scala, as well as the museums like Museo della Scienza e della Tecinca, Leonardo3 and Pinacoteca Ambrosiana.<\/p>\n\n\t\t
