The amazing opportunity to spend the night sleeping blissfully within thousands of books. That is Book and Bed<\/strong>, a wonderful hostel-library for all book lovers\u00a0 of\u00a0the world. Designed by a group of architects in the past this hostel-library was a traditional izakaya. Don’t you know what is it? So, let’s start to discover together the secrets of this fantastic place!<\/p>\n

Book and Bed Tokyo: the book lover’s dream\u00a0hotel<\/h2>\n

What the architects Makoto Tanijiri and Ai Yoshida<\/strong> offer with the entire staff of the Suppose Design Office, which they founded in Hiroshima in 2014, is the first hostel-library where you can literally sleep surrounded by books!<\/p>\n

Hostel\u00a0Book and Bed\u00a0<\/strong>is in the Ikebukuro area of the bustling city of Tokyo and occupies the seventh and eighth floors of a skyscraper that offers a breath-taking view of the lights of the Japanese metropolis. There are 52 beds available to guests of the hostel, in addition to the\u00a0different toilets and shared bathrooms while the heart of the structure is the shared space: it is a shared hall where guests can sit on a blue sofa and devote himself to reading.<\/p>\n

A place of dreams for book lovers<\/h2>\n

The hostel with its huge library inside offers the reader a wide range of choices: essays and novels\u00a0but also magazines, comics, manuals to find work, tour guides and so on. There are 1700 volumes<\/strong>, but this number is destined to increase as the Shibuya book publishing & booksellers<\/strong>\u00a0intends to increase the catalogue of books up to 3000 volumes.<\/p>\n

The question may arise\u00a0 spontaneously about which language<\/strong> these books are written but there is nothing to fear because\u00a0the Shibuya bookshop has selected volumes in Japanese but also in English to make them accessible to all travellers<\/strong> from the most diverse parts of the world.<\/p>\n

A variety of comfortable services for the reading<\/h2>\n

\"BookThe sleeping accommodations<\/strong>\u00a0and the entire structure are equipped with free Wi-Fi to allow guests of the hostel to take advantage of their devices at 360 degrees: computers, tablets and eBooks are welcome! Among\u00a0the other services and comforts offered, there is an elevator to reach the eighth floor, security and reception available 24 hours on 24<\/strong>, but also the ability to store their belongings in safety boxes or\u00a0take advantage of the vending machine.<\/p>\n

When you book the hostel\u00a0you have the choice between\u00a0two types of berths, all\u00a0compact, 90 cm x 200 cm and\u00a0equipped with individual\u00a0power outlet, reading light\u00a0and curtain to ensure privacy: “bookshelf”<\/strong> is the type of\u00a0berth located behind the\u00a0bookcase, symbol of the\u00a0hostel and is the one that\u00a0most concretizes the\u00a0customer’s idea of resting\u00a0immersed in the books; to\u00a0this choice it is opposed a\u00a0cheaper one, the “bunk”<\/strong>\u00a0berth.<\/p>\n

To give added value to Book and Bed is its strategic position<\/strong> to take advantage of the various\u00a0attractions and activities of the city. Located in Ikeburko, one of the most important areas of Tokyo,\u00a0the hostel provides easy access to most of the city’s must-see attractions. The Sunshine Aquarium<\/strong>\u00a0is only a 10-minute walk away, and a 16-minute train ride on the Marunouchi Line. You can reach\u00a0JR Tokyo Station or take about 60 minutes by airport limousine bus or train to reach Haneda\u00a0Airport. Furthermore, the hostel is a 93-minute Narita Airport via the Narita Express service while\u00a0the famous entertainment districts of Shinjuku and Shibuya<\/strong> are only 10 minutes away from the\u00a0hostel on the JR Yamanote Line.<\/p>\n

The whole team has succeeded with the Book and Bed to bring together the novelty with\u00a0sustainable development, to merge the passion for books with the renewal of resources, enclosing everything in a shelter for book lovers, so that they can enjoy their pause from the hustle of the city\u00a0reading in absolute relax a good book<\/strong>, abandoning the five senses to the smell of wood and the\u00a0rustle of paper.<\/p>\n
