This year the young country of Moldova hosted the third edition of the Wine Tourism Global Conference supported by the Global Organization of tourism, in collaboration with the government of the republic of Moldova.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n<div id=\"attachment_20615\" class=\"thumbnail alignnone\"><img class=\"wp-image-20615 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2018\/10\/Moldova_1980._19679033899-800x490.jpg\" alt=\"Moldova Chisinau, local vineyards\" width=\"800\" height=\"490\" \/><div class=\"caption\">Local vineyards<\/div><\/div>\n<h2>5 principal reasons for the nomination of Chisinau as world capital of the wine tourism<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The reasons of the nomination of Moldova, and in particular of the capital Chisinau, as <strong>world capital of wine tourism 2018<\/strong>\u00a0are severals.<\/p>\n<p>First of all, Moldova is one of the <b>most ancient producers of wine<\/b>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>There is evidence of the vine cultivation having started in this region<strong> 5 thousand years ago<\/strong> and today it ranks at the <strong>20\u00b0 place in the ranking of the world biggest producers of wine<\/strong> with <strong>1,8 millions of hectoliters<\/strong> (source Oil 2017). Indeed, one hundred thousand of hectares are vineyards: <strong>the highest density of vine cultivated soil in the world<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Moreover, thanks to the development of the enological and sustainable tourism, soon it will become <strong>an emergent touristic destination<\/strong>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span>The visitors will come from all over the world to taste not only refined wines but wines <strong>rewarded in international competitions<\/strong>.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Finally, don\u2019t forget that the <strong>cellars<\/strong> are the real tourist attractions: underground cellars with severals <strong>galleries<\/strong> from 40 to 80 meters above the soil.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>The extraordinary Moldavian wineries<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Every winery offers <strong>wine tastings, guided tours, accommodation<\/strong> and <strong>activities<\/strong> such as harvest and masterclasses of wine and food.
