This is what the last\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.isprambiente.gov.it\/en\/archive\/ispra-events\/2014\/december\/x-report-ispra-quality-of-urban-environment-2014-edition?set_language=en\" target=\"_blank\">ISPRA<\/a>\u00a0report on the quality of urban environment states.<\/p>\n<p>This rich <a href=\"http:\/\/www.isprambiente.gov.it\/en\/publications\/state-of-the-environment\/x-report-quality-of-the-urban-environment-2013-edition-2014?set_language=en\" target=\"_blank\">document<\/a>, now at its\u00a010th edition and extrapolated from the analysis of many environmental indicators belonging to <strong>73 different Italian cities<\/strong>, is composed by many chapters, which take a deeper look into the environmental state of these cities. The issues addressed in this report are: soil and territory, urban nature, waste, water, quality of air, sustainable constructions, transport, tourism, communication and environmental certificates.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_16780\" class=\"thumbnail alignnone\"><img class=\"wp-image-16780 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2017\/11\/Disponibilit\u00e0-di-verde-pro-capite1.jpg\" alt=\"Availability of green areas per capita in different Italian cities, accordng to the ISPRA Analysis in 2014. Urban green in Milan.\" width=\"870\" height=\"490\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2017\/11\/Olmi-Milano-foto-di-MADEINPHOTOS-870x490.jpg 870w, https:\/\/ecobnb.com\/blog\/app\/uploads\/sites\/3\/2017\/11\/Olmi-Milano-foto-di-MADEINPHOTOS-570x320.jpg 570w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 870px) 100vw, 870px\" \/><div class=\"caption\">180 elm trees in Milan, taken down in 2013, photo by MADEINPHOTOS, via flickr<\/div><\/div>\n<p>Urban green is a conduit for <strong>wellness<\/strong>, as it carries out many <em><strong>ecosystem services<\/strong><\/em>, such as\u00a0landscape improvement and other social, recreational and functional inputs.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s just think about the services that plants carry out: <strong>microclimate<\/strong> mitigation, especially the one regarding summer high temperatures, and <strong>quality of air<\/strong> improvement through the reduction of air pollutants&#8217; concentrations (leaves trap particles onto their surfaces and the presence of plants increases\u00a0air movement, encouraging the dispersion of particles).<\/p>\n<p>For this reason, the document affirms that in order to encourage both the stagnation and slaughter of pollutants, the presence and distribution of plants is fundamental, as it has been shown that areas with a dense collocation of trees are less polluted than areas where trees are collocated casually.
