They\u00a0are everywhere and many, they overlook the sea<\/strong> or climb the mountains<\/strong>, their houses are of all colors or white, some are made of wood; we walk in the alleys<\/strong> and narrow streets, between the artisans’ workshops<\/strong> and good smells<\/strong>, they are the soul of most authentic Italy<\/strong>. The Italian Villages are the perfect destination for a slow journey<\/strong> and these twelve months will be the best time to visit and live them.
\nThe Minister of cultural activities and tourism, Dario Franceschini<\/strong>, declared 2017 the Year of Villages<\/strong> in Italy, commenting on the decision:<\/p>\n

The villages that dot the area of \u200b\u200bour regions are rich in history, culture and traditions, and they are the cornerstone for the growth of sustainable tourism, able to create authentic experiences for visitors and to allow an\u00a0harmonious development for\u00a0the communities who live there. The Year of Villages will be an important opportunity to promote these realities that contribute so much to the quality of life in our country.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

After the Year of Walk, in Italy they continue to aim to\u00a0an experiential<\/strong> tourism<\/strong>, that promotes\u00a0lesser-known<\/strong> territories<\/strong> and allows\u00a0to live authentic experiences, pointing to traditions<\/strong>, landscapes<\/strong>, typical<\/strong> products<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

So let’s start, let’s explore the beautiful villages of Italy. Let’s\u00a0breathe the unique atmosphere<\/strong> of these little pearls of art and knowledge that attract visitors from around the world.
