Do you think that’s\u00a0possible for one person to produce more than 156<\/strong> kg<\/strong> of packaging<\/strong> waste<\/strong> per year? No? Unfortunately somehow you can, and you probably do too. This is indeed the average of packaging waste\u00a0generation for\u00a0inhabitant\u00a0in the European Union, a truly excessive amount<\/strong> that damages<\/strong> the environment<\/strong> and oceans<\/strong> irreversibly.<\/p>\n

\"How<\/p>\n

We had already spoken in this post<\/a>: if we fail to change our habits, our behaviors, in 2050 in the oceans there will be more plastic<\/strong> than fish. Every year, as many as 8 million tons of plastic end up in our seas, killing animals and destroying entire ecosystems.<\/p>\n

\"How<\/p>\n

Reducing our environmental impact and the amount of packaging we produce is simple: just be more aware<\/strong> and change efforts without any stress.<\/p>\n

The first rule is: avoid unnecessary packaging<\/h2>\n

We must try to reduce<\/strong> waste, from the moment of\u00a0shopping. We can choose the products that have minimal packaging<\/strong> or, better yet, buy products in bulk, using the containers that we already have in our\u00a0houses. We must try to avoid\u00a0the prepared foods, those already packaged, never buy disposable<\/strong> products, and forget about bottled<\/strong> water<\/strong>. The tap water is perfectly fine! (And if not, there’s many instrument to purify it)<\/p>\n

And when we are forced to buy packaging, we have to try to reuse and recycle<\/strong> as much as possible, because any waste can be a resource<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
