Farm holidays in the Apennines between Liguria and Parma

Caprasanta is a very small farm in a hamlet of S. Maria del Taro, the last strip of land in the Emilian Apennines just a step away from Liguria and an hour from the sea of Tigullio and as an air line above the Cinque Terre.

The apartment for guests is an independent, bright and welcoming house with kitchen and washing machine. On the upper floor there are two double bedrooms and a shared bathroom. We prepare a breakfast based on genuine products of the house as much as possible or in any case organic and / or local.
We pay a lot of attention to saving water and energy and in general we consciously evaluate the impact of actions and goods. The house is equipped with solar thermal panels, a thermocooker, the lighting is almost exclusively LED, the taps have very effective flow reducers. We practice differentiated collection and buy mainly used. Even the furnishing of the guest accommodation has been recovered and perhaps revised creatively.
Under the house there is a small room with books, comics and a ping-pong table.
In the garden, fresh shade even in summer, flowery meadows and hammocks for complete relaxation. The landscape ranges from the Penna mountain to the Zatta forests.

We like to share our choice of life, telling and showing what we do: we cultivate and transform for self-consumption, we raise a small flock of goats, we recover terraces for pastures and vegetable gardens, we collect wild fruits and herbs. We have goats, chickens, dogs and cats that give us milk, eggs and affection.
Our farm tries to practice the healthy peasant principle for which there are no waste but everything must be recovered.
We have an agroecological approach so we aim to coexist in balance with the soil, plants and animals of the territory and ours.
We try to network with the other small local producers and with the realities that try to stimulate an awareness of the consumer lifestyle and a critical vision of production methods (in particular food).

From the farm passes a path that connects to the Alta Via dei Monti Liguri and is close to other routes indicated in the guides of the C.A.I, in addition to the numerous paths between the hamlets. We recommend visiting Compiano, Bardi, Varese Ligure, Pontremoli and Berceto, suggestive medieval villages.

Just below the river flows the Taro, whose always fresh water is inviting for a nice swim in summer.

Area renowned for porcini mushrooms and once also for chestnuts, it has an undergrowth rich in much more from the point of view of phytotherapy and the collection of wild herbs to eat.

We live in a hamlet 5 minutes walk from the village (100 inhabitants), where there are food shops, bar-restaurant, butcher, gas station, pharmacy, hardware store and post office. There is a large area of the pro-loco that organizes summer parties and next to it there is a small park for children. There are 2 soccer fields, one regulated and one reduced.
