The Visočnik Vacation Farm

Our farm is the perfect place for those who desire peace and tranquillity as it is surrounded by mysterious forests, extensive hills and numerous meadows. If you want to spend your vacation far away from the city noise come to the Visočnik Vacation Farm, situated in the wonderful hamlet of Ter. The well-known Golte recreational and tourist centre is only 5 km away.

The local and diverse cuisine revives the old tradition reminding us of the time when our grandmothers devoted more time to cooking and food preparation. You will be offered 'savinjski želodec' (a stomach sausage typical of the Upper Savinja Valley), and all kinds of meat and dairy products, vegetables, delicious Slovenian typical dishes such as 'štrukelj', 'žlikrof' and homemade desserts.

Not only is the farm known for its intact nature, Slovene cuisine, homemade specialities and regional dishes, but also for its well-preserved granary, constructed in 1880. It used to be a typical building on the farm and it served as a tool shed. Close to the farm there is also a sycamore maple, which is 150 years old and 522 cm wide, making it the thickest sycamore maple in Slovenia.

There are a lot of possibilities for your free-time activities. Visitors can go rafting or canoeing on the Savinja River, mountain biking, parachuting and fishing in the surrounding area. In winter, guests can go skiing on the nearby Golte Ski Resort and enjoy all the joys of wintertime. The location of the farm also makes it an ideal starting point for hiking. Fitter climbers may take on moderately demanding routes, such as Smrekovec (1577m), Komen (1684m), Travnik (1637m), and Raduha (2062m), while others can go up the Sopot Spring or the Smrekovec Hill. Otherwise, you may also enjoy a trip to the Mozirje Botanical garden, the Robanov Kot Natural Park, the Matkov Kot Valley, the Logar Valley, the Snežna jama Cave, etc.
